As if it was telling me to stop going in the direction everyone else went and to deviate from the normal, since then I have been the sidewaydriver. It's not just a name, its a philosophy on life.

A phrase that jokingly begins many threads in the General section when the topic concerns food. The punchline of the joke is that there is no actual Food Forum. Usually the joke is employed to piss off the members who begin to rag when any harmless mention of the mythical forum is brought up. Most of the time the phrase will be modded to read a self-increminating statement of the original poster (i.e. "I love to suck cock behind Arby's" or "I let my mom fuck me in the ass with a dildo")Hopefully one day members will take it less seriously and see it for what it is, simply an inside joke of the forums.

1 (20 ounce) can DOLE Crushed Pineapple, undrained

2 pkg. (4 serving size) JELL-O Brand Raspberry Flavor Gelatin

1 (16 ounce) can whole berry cranberry sauce

1 medium DOLE Apple, chopped

2/3 cup chopped PLANTERS Walnuts

Cooking Directions:

Drain pineapple, reserving liquid in 1-qt. liquid measuring cup. Remove 1 Tbsp. of the crushed pineapple; set aside for garnish. Add enough cold water to reserved liquid to measure 3 cups; pour into large saucepan. Bring to boil; remove from heat. Add gelatin; stir at least 2 min. until completely dissolved. Add cranberry sauce; stir until well blended. (Note: Due to the presence of whole berries in the cranberry sauce, the gelatin mixture will not be smooth.) Pour into large bowl. Refrigerate 1-1/2 hours or until slightly thickened (consistency of unbeaten egg whites.)
Stir in remaining pineapple, the apples and walnuts; stir gently until well blended. Pour into medium serving bowl.
Refrigerate 4 hours or until firm. Top with reserved crushed pineapple just before serving. Store leftover gelatin in refrigerator.
Yield: 14 servings

After seeing the strong opinions people had on the idea, everybody fought over having a food forum, but strangely didn't have a problem with the overrated sports forum. He and a few others decided to post daily food topics in the General Discussion forum to prove that there is a desire for a Food forum. So far the threads have seen great response from other members. Opposers have gone on to form their own group called S.T.F.U. (Sydlexians for Treating Food Unfairly). Whether there will be a food forum or not remains to be seen.
