Metroid II came after [[Metroid]].  After the events of [[Metroid]], Samus goes to planet SR388 and kills 47 metroids.  She keeps a baby metroid at the end, which gets stolen in [[Super Metroid]], the third installment of the Metroid series.

It was inspired by the movie [[Aliens]].
