Mortal Kombat
In recent years, the Mortal Kombat series of video games has become infamous for its long confusing list of retcons. With the introduction of each new character, the official MK khronology is severely altered to give that character increased importance within the MK universe. This has resulted in the game's kontinuity being so fucked up that Midway is planning to do a series reboot with the next game. This will in no way backfire on them.
