To the vast majority of Van Halen fans, Gary Cherone is a punchline. He was the singer on the poorly received Van Halen III album and his vocal performances on the resulting world tour were often inconsistent. However, in Syd Lexia's home state of Massachusetts, Gary Cherone is somewhat of a hero. His band Extreme was one of the few relevant bands to emerge from the Boston area in the 80s and early 90s and their songs "Mutha (Don't Want To Go To School Today)" and "Get The Funk Out" kick some major fucking ass.
