Contra

Contra is a game where you play a random shirtless dude named Mad Dog trying to stop an alien invasion who call themselves Red Falcon.

This game was released to the UK under a different name as well as different enemies called Probotector.

It was the second of only nine NES games to surpass Super Mario Bros., after The Legend of Zelda and before Bubble Bobble.

Weapons

• Rapid Fire = makes your bullets travel faster

• Barrier = temporarily makes you invincible

• Spread = fires bullets in 5 directions. Considered the best weapon.

• Laser = a concentrated straight shot of power to enemies

• Flame = shoot fireballs in a rotating circle
