Nostalgiaphobia is a rare condition in which a person has a fear of being nostalgic.
Common Reactions
In order to combat this fear, a common reaction is to compensate by proactively surrounding one's self with enough things that would individually cause nostalgia, but collectively allow a true reliving of the period that the nostalgia would cover. Thus negating a true nostalgia by making the past a current reality.
